ESSENTIAL INFORMATION AND CONDITIONS FOR RETURNING YOUR PARTS. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

WHY DO WE HAVE EXCHANGE PARTS?

Having exchange items as part of a condition of sale isn't something we have taken lightly. We know it's a pain. We do this for several reasons, one is to keep costs to you down, and two is to make as minimal changes as necessary to the parts, so as to keep the RTA happy. And as an added bonus to the environment it is also recycling.

If you're as mad about Datsuns as we are, you'll know that there are very few parts available for them these days, so although we can source the occasional parts, we rely mostly on customers sending these parts to us to continue operating.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Originally to avoid inconvenience to the customer we'd charge a small bond which was refundable after receving core stock back. However, because a huge 95% of customers still did not return their parts we had no choice but to amend this policy.

New policy insists that you send your items back first. If this is an impossibility for you, we will now be charging quite a considerable bond on these items. We need to charge this very high amount because a) your mate will not offer you that amount to buy it from you instead and b) you're really going to want that amount back. The parts are not worth that much and we don't want to keep your money. There is no time-limit on sending your parts back. If a year goes by we'll still return your bond.

HOW DO I SEND THEM BACK? I'M IN OUT-BACK DUNNEE DOO AND YOU'RE IN ADELAIDE.

Option 1: Australia Post.

Send with regular mail everything except rear cross members, keeping each parcel under 20kg. This freight cost is bourne by you.

Option 2: Mad Dat Freight Account

Send with Toll Ipec. This freight cost will be added to your invoice and this is usually a little more expensive than Australia post. This is the only option for rear XM's unless you have your own freight account.

Toll will pick up from any location where someone will always be available to fill out a consignment note. You cannot leave freight out for them and the driver cannot fill out the consignment note for you. You can call Toll or we can do it for you.

HOW DO I PACKAGE THE ITEMS?

We recommend grabbing an old cardboard box, cutting it up, wrapping it around tight and securing with packing tape. Freight companies charge cubic on large boxes, so if your package rattles there's a good chance you'll pay extra for freight. You can also wrap in bubble wrap or heavy duty wrapping material. Toll or Aussie post will not package it for you.

However you package it, remember that these items will get handled roughly, they rub on other packages, get dragged across concrete, fall off of conveyor belts etc. It's not likely that they'll get damaged, but if the packaging comes loose and is separated from the address, it will probably be lost forever. Also consider sharp ends or pins rubbing through cardboard.

Most freight companies like to handle packages under 25kg. If you can't lift it, neither can the courier.

Wiring Looms - No value, we cannot offer this service unless you send us yours. We will re-manufacture your exact loom, so be careful what you send us because you'll get the same back. If you do not send all parts requested, we may charge extra to purchase items separately.

SR20 Engine Brackets $200 (we do not want the rubber parts, just the brackets that bolt immediately from the block)

Lower Control Arms $100

Steering Arms $60

We do NOT use 1200 suspension components or any gearbox cross members. We do use some Stanza and Sunny steering components.

WHAT IF THE ITEM DOESN'T ARRIVE OR ARRIVES DAMAGED?

How you choose to send your item(s), whether you insure it, or package it sufficiently can only be controlled by you, therefore is your responsibility. If the item does not arrive, or is damaged on arrival beyond repair we cannot refund your bond. This is open to negotiation, however.

WHAT IF MY EXCHANGE ITEMS ARE DAMAGED OR RUSTED?

We will be remanufacturing your items, so if you send us rubbish, you'll get rubbish back. If the item is repairable we may just refund your bond minus the time it took us to repair it. Please inspect your items and do not send them if you're not sure. Give us a call, or e-mail or MMS pictures to avoid disappointment.

If you send us inferior parts, we will only send them back to you if you pay for the freight. We prefer not to send them back at all, because if they are no good to us, they are no good to anybody except the scrap metal recycler.

WHAT IF I DON'T HAVE THE EXCHANGE PARTS AT ALL?

If we happen to be able to get hold of those parts locally, we can add our cost price for the parts to your order. We cannot always get the parts, however. You might also consider sourcing the parts from a local wrecker to send back. You can pay $270 for a brand new 1200 cross member, but this amount is not refundable.

I'VE GOT EXTRA PARTS, WILL YOU GIVE DISCOUNT IF I SEND THEM AS WELL?

Definitely. If you have a couple of extra items lying about the shed that are on the exchange parts list, send us an e-mail and ask for a price that we will pay you. Please note that we do not pay for these parts until we receive them in good order. If we owe you money, it will be paid by EFT or cheque, whichever you prefer. You do not need to be a customer to sell us parts.
