Do you give industry discount?
A large percentage of our customers are panel beaters or mechanics so we would be giving discount to everyone. Wholesale prices on some items are given for purchasing items in bulk.

Will you give discount if I place a big order?
Sure. If you place one big order we will give a discount once you work out exactly what you want to order. On most occasions conversions are long-term projects so we also reward faithful customers with discounts down the track if their overall purchases reach a certain point. We do not offer discount on a promise you will buy lots.

Is freight expensive?
Most fitting kits cost about $30 to send by Toll Ipec road freight. Small items are sent by express post in an $8 500g bag or $14 3kg bag. Average price to send a ute lid is $150. Or a diff on a pallet about $180.
Please send us an e-mail for an international quote as the price varies dramatically. Note we do not send very large items internationally, eg Ute lid, rear cross member and trans tunnels.

Do you sell parts for my Z?
No, unless they happen to fit the same as other items eg brake conversions. We can do custom-work, however. |

Can you make a fitting kit to fit a Dodge Viper V12 to my 1958 GoGo Mobile.
Um err... We cannot fab a kit and send it to you, but we can fit most engines to most cars if we have the car here to do it and 'here' is Adelaide. It will be more expensive than an off-the-shelf kit because it is custom work. Freighting your car is surprisingly cheap if you can't get anyone local to do it. |

Do you sell engine parts?
No. |

Do you sell engines?
Not normally. Somtimes we have one hanging around, or if you place a big order we can arrange sending one with the order on a pallet.

Can you fit my calipers to your brake kit?
The brake kits we have listed on the website are the only ones we do and we will not modify them. |

What size wheels do I need to fit over your 4-spot front brake kit?
Min 15" for the 280mm and 16" for the 300mm. We can do a kit for a smaller wheel but it will not have the same braking capacity.

What offset wheels do I need and what's the biggest wheel I can fit on my 1200?
Our brake/suspension kits are designed so that they affect wheel offset minimally so you can run standard Datsun offset. (around +25mm on a 6" wide). 6" is a comfortable width on a 1200. More than that and you'll run into scrubbing problems at full lock. 17 or 16 x 6 is doable. |

Do I need a Stumpy box for my CA/1200 converison?
No. Having a stumpy box is convenient because you can get away with only minor mods to your trans tunnel and keep your heater box (although very tight fit) and the shifter remains in the same place. However, the CA box is much stronger, newer, cheaper and the shifter only sits about 15cm back from the original position so isn't too much of a problem.

Is this legal in my state?
We would desperately love to have an entire page dedicated to information about how to engineer a car in your state, however the information is hard to come by. If you have successfully engineered a car in your state we would love to know details of your engineer, cost and how hard/easy it was.
In general, however there are two different rules. One for cars that are going straight to the RTA and one for cars that have an engineers certificate. If you have made your way to this site it's pretty safe to assume whatever you're looking at doing will need an engineer. If you find a good 'Datsun-sympathetic' engineer you have free range to do just about anything providing the engineer says it will stop and handle well despite the extra kW. The cost of an engineer varies from state to state anywhere from $500 to $2000.
Keep in mind that in speaking with your local RTA they may not be able to give you the correct information about what is legal because they only know about un-engineered rules (and will frequently give incorrect info). You need to speak to an engineer to get any firm answers. They can give you a list of local engineers, but it will likely be extensive so keep a day free to do lots of ringing.

How much does it cost to fit an X engine to a Y car?
We get asked this question frequently but need more information. Please send us an e-mail outlining the following and we'll do our best to reply as accurately as possible.
Do you just want it dropped in there or do you want to drive it away?
Do you want other items modified and if so do you just want the items or do you want us to fit them?
Front & Rear Brakes & lines
New Suspension
Fuel System and fuel lines
Brake Booster & Master
Wiring & Tuning
Exhaust
Cooling
Diff
Removal of old engine
Roll cage
Supply of new engine or will you supply it?
What will you be using the car for? (street, track, drag, rally) Is this car going to be thrashed, or a trailer and mirrors job at every car show around the country? Feel free to give us an essay on the car, the more you tell us about it the better we can get a feel for your needs.
But as a general rule, you'll need absolute minimum $15K on top of the price of the car (not including body work) to do it properly, even if you do it all yourself so you could easily spend a lot more.
